Content Management System Firewall

Tech Support

Here at getyouonline.co.uk, we take security very seriously.

Due to insecurities in open source systems like WordPress, Joomla or Magento, there are vulnerable threats that can be exploited by hackers.

All of our new websites are coded in our very own bespoke framework, eliminating these specific threats.

In addition to this, any content management system (CMS) that has a login screen is vulnerable to brute force attacks. A brute force attack is where a hacker will attempt to login to a website by repeatedly trying to login to a system with different sets of usernames and passwords.

Our CMS Firewall prevents hackers from even attempting to login, by restricting access to the login screen, to only allowed IP addresses. This restriction means there is an extra level of security protecting your website.

To gain access to your CMS, you simply need to provide our Customer Services team with your public IP address. You can view your public IP address by clicking the link below:

My IP Address Keeps Changing, What Can I Do?

If your IP address keeps changing and you are regularly having to update us with your IP address, here are your options

  • Speak to your Internet Service Provider and purchase a static IP address (they will usually charge a monthly fee)
  • Alternatively, you can opt out of the getyouonline.co.uk CMS Firewall Protection. To do so, please contact the team who can assist in moving forward. This means that anyone can access the login screen, meaning visitors can attempt to hack the login form. We require this request in writing via email.
